Truro airfield in Cornwall by captainflynn Truro airfield in Cornwall by captainflynn
Although I qualified for my private pilots license at Perranporth, my training originally started at Truro in 2003. Unfortunately the flying school didn't last long and I moved over to Perranporth after obtaining 12 hours flying and 3 solo flights at Truro. As of today I have around 80 hours in my logbook.

Sure is! I spent a few months flying from and working at that airfield in 2003 to 2004. It was a lovely place but the flying school closed down and so I had to transfer to Perranporth.
The scenery around that area is pretty!

Well as you know, I did set out to go for my PPL, CPL/IR, multi engine rating and ATPL.. however, i'm happy with my PPL now, as obviously I no longer want to be an airline pilot.

Hmmm that's an interesting opinion, but having just the PPL rating is not enough for me, I want more, and i also want the aerobatic rating. Hahaha!!.

Good luck :D
I want to be a police constable now, instead of an airline pilot, so I have no desire anymore to spend out on ratings I won't use :D

i think getting your PPL would be cool. you can always go for more if you wanted...i think that an instrument rating would be good as you never know when you might get stuck in fog or thick clouds.

I already have my PPL :) I got that back in 2007 :)
An IR is only worth it over here if you want to go commercial as they are expensive!

Must be just you guys?
I can take friends and family flying, but cannot recieve any payment for doing so. Over here in the UK only a Commercial license holder can obtain payment for flying services.

Yeah, the requirements just get continually added on as the years go by! Frustrating. :) That's why i'm just happy with my PPL. :)
